1. Who we are

Faceless Ape Corp (the “Game”) is a multiplayer virtual reality game for Meta Quest, made and operated by Kristalic Inc., operating as RemioVR (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. The in-game “Faceless Ape Corp” is a fictional employer; the jokes on this website are not part of this policy.

This policy covers the Game, this website (facelessapecorp.com) and our official community channels. It does not cover Meta, Discord, YouTube or TikTok themselves, which have their own privacy policies.

3. This website

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages, links and campaigns bring people to the game. It records the pages you view, the links you click on this site (such as the Meta Quest Store or Discord buttons), the site or ad that sent you here, and your approximate location, device and browser. It sets first-party analytics cookies (named _ga) that last up to 14 months. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, do not set advertising cookies, and do not use this data to show you ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off and Google receives only cookieless measurements. You can block analytics with your browser’s privacy settings or Google’s opt-out add-on. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.

The website also loads the Google Ads tag. It notes each page load and, when you tap a Meta Quest Store button, tells Google Ads that a store click happened, so we can see which of our ads lead people to the game. It uses no advertising cookies, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or show you ads.

The Meta Quest Store buttons go through a Meta short link so that Meta can tell us how many people reached the store from this site; Meta handles that under its own privacy policy. Fonts and videos are served from our own hosting. Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) processes your IP address and browser details in server logs in order to deliver the pages and keep the service secure.

The trailer is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode and only loads after you press play. Once it loads, YouTube may collect information under Google’s privacy policy. Links to the Meta Quest Store, Discord, YouTube and TikTok take you to services we do not control.

4. How we use information and our legal bases

  • To provide the Game (performance of our contract with you): sign-in, multiplayer, voice chat, saving progress, delivering purchases.
  • To keep the Game safe and fair (our legitimate interests and legal obligations): moderation, enforcing our Terms of Service, anti-cheat and fraud prevention.
  • To improve the Game (our legitimate interests): analytics, diagnostics and balancing.
  • To communicate with you (our legitimate interests, or your consent where required): answering support requests and running the creator program.
  • To comply with the law: tax, accounting and lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party behavioural advertising.

5. Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Game, and only as needed:

ProviderWhat it does for us
Meta PlatformsPlatform account, entitlement checks, in-app purchases, store distribution
Google FirebaseAuthentication, game backend and database, remote configuration, analytics, website hosting
Photon (Exit Games)Real-time multiplayer networking and live voice chat relay
AmplitudeGameplay analytics
Unity TechnologiesGame engine services, bug and diagnostic reports
Talsec (freeRASP)App integrity and tamper detection

Other players in your session can see your display name and avatar, hear your voice and see what you do in the Game. Players may record or stream gameplay, including with the in-game camera, so treat voice chat as public.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of players, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

6. Children and teens

The Game is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. You need a Meta account to play. Meta sets its own age requirements, allows children aged 10 to 12 on Meta Quest only through a parent-managed account, and tells us the age group of each account.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher minimum age that applies in your country) without the parental consent the law requires. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact us at support@remiovr.com and we will delete it.

Parents and guardians of teens can ask us to show, correct or delete their teen’s information at any time. We also recommend using Meta’s parental supervision features to manage who your teen can play and talk with.

7. Voice chat and player safety

Voice chat is live and is not recorded or stored by us. You can mute any player from the in-game players screen, and you can report players through the Meta Quest reporting tools or to us on Discord or by email.

When we receive a report we may review the information supplied with it, together with account and session data, to decide whether our rules were broken.

8. How long we keep information

  • Account and game data: for as long as your account is active, and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
  • Analytics and diagnostics: up to 24 months, then deleted or aggregated.
  • Website analytics: up to 14 months, then deleted by Google Analytics.
  • Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Support messages: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
  • Moderation records: for as long as needed to enforce a restriction and prevent repeat abuse.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including the EEA, the UK and US states such as California), you have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Deleting your data

Email support@remiovr.com from the address you can be reached at, tell us your Meta display name, and ask us to delete your Faceless Ape Corp data, using the subject “Privacy Request”. We may need to confirm that the account is yours. We answer within 30 days. You can also remove the app and revoke its access in your Meta account settings.

If you are unhappy with how we handled a request, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Notice for residents of US states

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Virginia, you can ask to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it and to receive a copy. The categories we collect, why we collect them and who receives them are set out in sections 2 to 5 above.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. To make a request, or to appeal a decision we made about one, email support@remiovr.com with the subject “Privacy Request”. We reply within 45 days.

11. International transfers

We and our providers process information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for those transfers.

12. Security

Game data is transmitted over encrypted connections, purchases and saved progress are validated on our servers, and access to player data is limited to the people who need it to run the Game. No online service can promise perfect security, so please tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the Game or the law changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant we will also announce it in our Discord or in the Game before it takes effect.

14. Contact us

Questions and requests about privacy: support@remiovr.com. You can also reach the team on our Discord, but please do not post personal information in public channels.
